Fundraising at Mira Mesa is a Tradition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every few years the Marauder Football Booster Club and the Football Teams have traditionally taken on large projects that exceed the scope of any imaginable funding provided by the district, to raise the funds for projects needed to take the program one step further. This year is no exception. We've moved out of the old weight room, which will be going back to cheer and dance, and building a new weight room with 12 stations in what used to be the metal shop.
It's a long awaited and much needed move that will free up the existing room for the functions it was originally intended, and allow us to put in a comprehensive weight room that sorely needed. And will without a doubt allow Mira Mesa to continue it's successes on the field and take Marauder Football to the next level.
2006 Project: New Weight Room Facility [Estimated Cost: $60,000]
After almost 20 years of being in the last known Marauder Football weight room, the Marauders have moved their weightlifting facilities. The old metal shop classroom and work area has been converted to a nice, spacious and fully functional weight room and operations facility for Marauder Football.
The problem is the Marauders need new equipment. We are in the process of fund raising for more than $50,000 to equip the new weight room. We need to purchase the latest and greatest equipment to keep the Marauders at the top level of football in the county of San Diego.

We are currently taking donations for the program and facility from all Marauder supporters. (No amount is too small) Whether you are a former Marauder, individual supporter or a business, we urge you to consider giving support to the program. In order to run a superior program it takes an extraordinary amount of time, work and money to make it all come together on Friday Night.

The new weight room will include greater separation of lifting platforms for safety, high impact rubber flooring, and new equipment. The following pictures show some of the existing equipment that was temporarily moved into the new weight room. Conceptual pictures of how the new weight room will be furnished are coming soon........

Previous Projects
Previous projects include:
(Year) Artificial Turf Field [Cost: $600,000+]
When the try at re-sodding failed, drastic measures were required...the staff knew they had to do something. Then the opportunity presented itself to get partial funding from the city for a turf field. The staff made trips to the northwest to investigate which fields did well, were low maintenance, and could stand up to the rigorous requirements of the area. (Year) SOD Field {Cost: ???]
Over the course of time, the original field became dangerous and almost unusable. The football staff and booster club members determined something had to be done. During the summer of year??? the staff, football team members, and booster club members with the tremendous assistance of the Navy Brig at Miramar was able to resod a good portion of the field.
Staff members meticulously took care of the field, watering it making sure it was properly cut, and making sure that whatever maintenance was needed got done. But the field had seen it's day with years??? of accumulated use and within 3 months could no longer support the SOD and we were back in the same shape we were in the previous year.

Four members of the Booster Club actually put their houses up as collateral to get lights put in the stadium. Thanks to the hard work of parent boosters and Marauder Football players, the loan was retired after only 4 years.
