Offense
The Marauder offense has been kicking it up a
few notches lately, starting to play up to their preseason
expectations...with one more game left in the regular season, they
are spreading it around, giving everyone the ball, getting ready
for postseason play.
RB #2 Jelani Burton...awesome...awesome...awesome
WR #3 Josh Ollison...awesome
WR #4 Markques Simas...awesome
QBs #10 Alex Cann and #15 Kevin O'Mary...awesome
RB
#34 Dax Evangelista...awesome
O-Line...awesome
Behind some big holes made
by the entire O-line starting RB #2 Jelani Burton,
newcomer RB #33 Jerik Davis, and big Power RB #34 "DAX"
Evangelista tore up the turf tonight; and in the case of DAX...pounded
their opponents.
Their efforts were matched
by quick strikes thrown to #3 WR Josh Ollison in the
middle, and #4 WR Markques Simas by the platooning QBs
#10 Alex Cann and #15 Kevin O'Mary.
I can't say too much about the way the O-Line
controlled the line of scrimmage tonight. Alex,
Josh, Dionte, Jeremy, Sean, Josh, George, William, John, AJ...you
really played big tonight, while #11 Ryan Kastris and #89
Nate Chandler boxed in the ends. You either moved them out of
the way or held them at the line all night.
Defense
I don't pay much
attention to stats, but if I did, one player was racking them up
on the defensive side of the ball tonight...
LB #7 Jovon Glasper...awesome...awesome...awesome
At one point I think he
made about 7 tackles in a row...LB # 7 Jovon Glasper was
fired up tonight...he really stepped up and got the defense going
after a couple of bad breaks in the first quarter.
DBs #1 Brandon Chambers and #19 Verry Jackson had
a few nice tips, and the defense effectively shut the Patriots
down after the first quarter.
Special Teams
Aside from a fake
punt near the end of the first quarter, the Marauders failed to
recognize, you could just about color Special Teams perfect.
Kicker #14 Austin Turner continued his string of extra
point conversions, and the kickoff team kept the Patriots pretty
well buried in their own end.
Kicker #14 Austin Turner...awesome
JV Players
As with most teams this time of year, the
Marauders are
bringing up a few JV/ Sophomore players that show promise in being
big contributors in the lineup next year...DB #1 Brandon Chambers, DB/RB #33
Jerik Davis and LB #32 Darren Jenkins. The nice
thing is all are contributing right now.
Notre Dame may have had
its RUDY,
but the Marauders have their RAYNOR
To cheers of "Raynor...Raynor...Raynor,"
backup offensive linemen #59 William Raynor became the lead
blocker for Power RB #34 DAX Evangelista about the
middle of the 4th quarter. Raynor made big holes on the left
side of the line creating opportunities for RB DAX, as they went
about the business of winding down the clock...great job guys.
